Condition:
Good vintage condition. The mug shows typical age wear with glaze crazing, but the artwork (deer, bird, skunk) remains bright and intact. Whistle feature on the handle appears functional. Damage to the handle but still adorable!

Size:
Approximately 3.5″ tall based on similar listings. Recommend confirming exact height once possible.

Description:

  • Charming 19th-century style children’s whistle mug originally made in Japan, likely mid-20th century.

  • One side reads “Today I Am a Little Dear” with a hand-painted baby deer and butterfly; flip it and it says “Today I Am a Little Stinker” with a skunk illustration. Handle is hollow and forms a functioning whistle, decorated with a little bluebird perched atop.

  • Glaze crazing adds vintage character; artwork remains vivid.

  • Ideal for collectors of novelty ceramics, vintage Japanese ware, or whimsical nursery décor.
